Why pay full price for a nil return?

Your company did nothing this year. Your fee should reflect that.

A dormant company return is quick work for an experienced accountant. Plenty of firms still charge full company rates for it.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about dormant company returns

Does a dormant company need to lodge a tax return?

Generally yes. A registered company usually needs to lodge a return each year, or in limited cases a 'return not necessary' notification. We confirm which applies to your company and handle it.

What counts as dormant?

No trading activity: no sales, no wages, and little or no movement in the bank account beyond things like ASIC fees or bank charges. Low-activity companies that fall just outside this are usually still covered at the same $330 tier.

How much does it cost?

$330 inc GST, flat. That covers the company tax return, minimal financial statements and lodgement with the ATO.

The company has not lodged for several years. Can you help?

Yes, this is very common with dormant companies. We can bundle multiple outstanding years into one fixed quote. See our overdue tax returns service.

What do you need from me?

Company details, confirmation of the dormant status, and bank statements or a bank feed if there was any movement. For most dormant companies that is it.

Should I deregister the company instead?

If you have no future use for it, deregistering can save ongoing ASIC and lodgement costs. It is worth weighing up properly first. Book a quick chat and we will talk it through.
